underSTAND explored the act and resulting events surrounding the murder of Trayvon Martin. It used Trayvon Martin’s role as a spiritual figure in the modern-day Civil Rights Movement, and how he may have been looking for us to respond through unity and understanding to make progressive action. Gabriela was inspired by the media (television, news articles, etc.) in creating the movement and sound for this work.
